Category : Continuing Professional Development - for qualified massage therapists

We are taking elements of our deep tissue massage course online!

In these extraordinary times, we are offering some of the elements of our deep tissue massage course, online.
If you are a qualified practitioner and want to keep your hands and head immersed into massage, this might be for you. Numbers are limited, so book as soon as possible!

We are looking for a number of SCMT graduates to give us some feedback on the components which will come out between 15th April and 22nd April.

This online introduction will be a mixture of discussions, presentations, videos, quizzes and homework tasks and questions covering mainly the theory aspects of deep tissue massage, but also palpation techniques that people can practise during lockdown.

For those who complete the tasks, you will give some feedback and a certificate for CPD purposes. We will also want some feedback from you, as we are planning to put this course partly online, so you can help shape this course! We are charging a nominal fee of £20 which will be taken off the fee if participants book the practical days (11th to 13th July).

Anybody who has signed up for our deep tissue course (new dates in July: 11, 12, 13th July, more dates to come) will be invited automatically.

Please note: This will not contain practical videos. These will only be published to people who sign up for our practical days.

We are very excited about this, because we will be able to do even more practical work on the practical days if we do the theory partly this way!

Day 1 Theory and fundamentals:
Anatomy of deeper structures, cautions & contraindications
Postural imbalances that can be addressed with deep tissue massage
Conditions that can be addressed with deep tissue massage
Theory and application (includes trigger point fundamentals)
Palpation & techniques for release of musculo-skeletal restrictions (work with a partner or on yourself)
