Are you passionate about massage and do you want to learn as much as possible and remain as inspired as you can?

SCMT’s ethos is a student-centered approach where we acknowledge that one size does not fit all. As a unique practitioner with unique needs, you carefully have to judge how to best invest time and money to develop your individual massage career.

With that in mind, we are introducing a new way for qualified level 3 and 4 massage practitioners to create bespoke CPD that suits them; all you have to do is choose!

1 to 3 Day CPD courses in:

Postural Assessment
Learn to recognise postural patterns and imbalances, why these occur and the relevance for your massage work

Range of Movement Assessment
Learn how and why to apply a range of movement as an assessment tool, and how to record it for your client notes.

Pre- inter and post event massage
Techniques commonly used in pre, inter- and post-event massage, learn how and when to apply what techniques.

Sports Psychology
Help your clients by understanding current thinking in sports psychology.

Myofascial Release
Indirect myofascial release is a gentle technique to free the body from fascial tension. Can have wide-reaching effects and will transform your practice completely.

Scar Tissue Release
Strain patterns in the body can be caused or influenced by scar tissue, even very old ones. This course is about working with surgical scar tissue.

Deep Tissue Massage
Learn how to reach deeper structures without causing unnecessary pain for the client and strain for yourself.

Muscle Energy Techniques
Use the body’s stretch reflexes to safely lengthen shortened structures. Empowering for the client with visible results.

Integrated Neuromuscular Technique
For practitioners who want to combine myofascial release, muscle energy technique, Positional Release and stretching to target trigger points. You have to done at least a one day training in myofascial release, muscle energy technique and positional release to come on this course.

Soft Tissue Release
A direct approach to work with tight and short muscles and areas. Learn how to do it on major muscle groups.

Therapeutic Relationship & Boundaries

The efficacy of the massage has at least 50% to do with the way the therapist relates to the client, is this true?

How to Create a Successful Complementary Therapy Practice

Not only do we need to be an excellent technition, we also need to be able to manage our practice; from ordering enough oil, to completing our tax return; from adopting self care strategies to laundering our towels.

Supervision for Bodyworkers

Take a good look at your practice; how you do what you do, why and how.

Injuries & Conditions
4 days (can be taken individually) to look at: Injuries and Conditions of the nervous system, Injuries and Conditions for the musculo-skeletal system, common sports injuries and rehabilitation

Certificates in:
Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Indian Head Massage, Neuromuscular (Trigger point) Techniques, Injuries & Conditions, Manual Lymph Drainage

Certificates give a thorough, rounded approach to a subject. You will do supervised student clinics, get personal tutor feedback, enhance your knowledge and get guidance on treatment planning.

 

(Certificates take between 7 and 10 days incl exam, you will need to do homework and case studies)
